This all-purpose 223 Rem range cartridge is great for plinking. It’s great for training. It’s great for winning competitions or hunting varmints, and, if the situation merits it, it’s even great for self defense. That’s because this Hornady Frontier round combines exceptional accuracy with the already potent 223 platform!

This round’s 55 grain bullet is a hollow point match. Unlike the hollow point bullet you may already be accustomed to, this round’s HP isn’t designed for terminal expansion. The opening in its tip indicates that its base is jacketed for more consistent performance during ignition, as well as that its core is more uniformly distributed than usual.

In conjunction with Hornady’s invariably concentric gilding metal jacket, expertly formulated and measured propellant, and uber-responsive and military-grade Boxer primer, this round is able to deliver an unwavering 3,240 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel. As it retains approximately half of its starting velocity at 500 yards, this round gives its shooter a .254 G1 ballistic coefficient so they can hit bulls over staggering distances.

Hornady’s Frontier line of ammunition also features excellent brass shell casings for reliable cycling, clean shooting, and multiple opportunities to handload back at home. A thrifty reloader could stretch this case of ammo out for ages!
