Cleaning out a .45 caliber suppressor? It’s not the worst way to spend your time. Put on a Skynyrd record (we recommend Street Survivors) and have at it.
But what if you’d rather spend less time brushing baffles? Well, if that’s the case, then you might just appreciate Blazer Brass Clean-Fire Suppressor 45 Auto ammunition.
This cartridge reduces your pistol’s (and your lungs’) exposure to lead in two key ways. First, its primer. Bust out the old electron microscope you keep in your garage and look for lead atoms in that primer. Actually, don’t. We’ll save you the trouble. It’s a lead-free primer. You won’t find any lead in there.
Second, its bullet. That right there is a TOTAL metal jacket. It’s not a full metal jacket, which doesn’t shield its lead core’s base against the heat of ignition. The TMJ’s base is jacketed, which is why it doesn’t sweat lead gas that turns into fouling and airborne lead particles.
This low-velocity, low-recoil, and assuredly subsonic ammo is a great pick if you’re not shooting suppressed, but do want to shoot indoors without inhaling as much of the gray stuff!
