You don’t have to be a cop just because you want to shoot like one. Hornady’s TAP Rifle Training ammo is specifically produced for law enforcement training, but we reckon you’re just as entitled to this case of high-quality 5.56x45!

This cartridge’s 55 grain FMJBT projectile features a solid lead core and gilding metal jacket – no steel, nonmagnetic, compliant with all ranges’ guidelines. The bullet stays firmly rooted in the case mouth courtesy of its jacket’s cannelure, and its boat tail actively reduces drag in flight.

The FMJBT hits a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps once it clears a 24” barrel. Its resultant 0.243 G1 ballistic coefficient means that it will dash past the 500-yard line at a velocity of 1,540 fps. All of this is to say that this ammo’s performance is analogous to the military’s M193 load!

This ammo is loaded with durable and supple annealed brass cases and non-corrosive small rifle primers. Its temperature stable propellant will supply consistent ballistic performance under a broad spectrum of weather conditions, and it’s additionally formulated to emit a duller muzzle flash on ignition. The FMJBT will not expand inside soft tissue, but it will fragment apart following close-to-mid range impact.
