Looking for 7.62x39 ammo for your AK-47 – or 7.62x51 ammo for your 308 Win rifle? Don’t look here! This is 7.62x54r ammo from Serbia, and it will only work in firearms like the Mosin-Nagant, Berkut-2M1 and M91. (If you’ve miraculously managed to get your hands on a Hua Qing minigun, then this case of 750 rounds will make you very happy indeed.)

This round’s 182 grain bullet weight and 2,624 fps muzzle velocity are precisely what 7.62x54r rifles like. The FMJ can’t be counted on to deliver terminal expansion, but because this ammo is made in Serbia instead of Russia it is also unable to attract a magnet. That’s right – this bullet’s copper-alloy jacket is steel-free and compliant with certain ranges’ bans against magnetic ammunition!

Brass cases are a nice touch. They expand to seal the chamber during ignition more effectively than rigid steel cases, so you can expect to keep your rifle’s action a lot shinier in between cleanings. Prvi Partizan’s primers are both sealed and noncorrosive. But because they are Berdan primers, the brass cases have two flash holes instead of one. That doesn’t impact performance in any noticeable way; it just means you cannot reload this ammo with standard Boxer primers. We’d advise against trying to reload Berdan-primed ammo like this!
