It’s hard to argue with the performance of the .45 ACP as a handgun cartridge. That’s why it was the go-to round for the US military for 74 years - longer than any other cartridge out there. Browning knew he created one hell of a round; do you want to be the one to argue with a guy whose middle name is Moses? I didn’t think so.

Buffalo Bore’s +P version takes Browning’s design and kicks it up a notch. You get greater pressure and power from the +P ammo, with the 230-grain JHP rounds averaging 950/fps and 461 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. With those kind of numbers, you can be sure that these rounds will have the desired effect, expanding reliably on impact and inflicting maximum stopping-power.

Because jacketed hollowpoint ammo is designed to be used in self defense situations, Buffalo Bore recognizes that shooting their ammo in low-light or no-light conditions is a real possibility. As such, their loads use flash suppressed powder to help protect your eyesight in those critical moments.

If you plan on doing more than casual shooting with these +P rounds, Buffalo Bore recommends switching to a stronger recoil spring. However, if you just plan on putting enough of these rounds through your gun to figure out how they’re going to perform in a self-defense situation, then you should be fine.

Load a few mags with these rounds and carry them with confidence. After all, Buffalo Bore’s motto is, “Strictly big bore. Strictly Business” for a reason!
