Details

This Italian-designed and American-made 12 Gauge shotshell by Fiocchi is exactly what a dedicated trap or skeet enthusiast ought to invest in in bulk. It’s a cost effective load without sparing the consistently tight and fast-flying pattern that disintegrating clays demands!

This shell is loaded with 7/8 ounces of #7.5 lead shot. That’s a relatively slight payload for a 12 Gauge shell, which means you’ll enjoy significantly less recoil as you’re taking the fight to clays. It’s also a large factor that contributes to this shell’s excellent price tag. Fiocchi makes their shot hard, so it can preserve its round, accurate form as it’s pushed rapidly down the barrel.

Fiocchi has been in business for too long for anyone to claim they don’t know exactly what they’re doing. These 250 shells are all interchangeable with one another in terms of their components. Every trigger pull will effect a sensitive, non-corrosive primer to ignite a clean burning propellant charge that delivers a fast 1,350 fps muzzle velocity. Even with a whole case, you’ll inevitably wish you had more!

A: Thanks for reaching out Ron! I'd definitely recommend #7.5 lead shot. I'd also recommend a 1-1/8 ounce shot column, since that'll give you about 88 more shot pellets with each trigger pull. Fiocchi's ammo is pretty good, but I'm personally partial to Federal Top Gun: https://www.bulkammo.com/bulk-12gauge-ammo-12gauge234in118oz75tg1275federal-250. If you'd like a faster muzzle velocity (which will let you get away with leading ahead less with your aim) and are content with 1 ounce of #7.5 lead shot (350 pellets, as opposed to 394), then Fiocchi Crusher ammo ought to serve you very well: https://www.bulkammo.com/bulk-12ga-ammo-12ga23475shot12crsr75fio-250

A: Great question! You've got a choice between birdshot, buckshot, and slugs. Birdshot is really only desirable if you're SUPER concerned about wall penetration. Most people don't prefer it. Buckshot, especially 00 buckshot, is the gold standard for self-defense. It's what the cops most frequently use, and its efficacy against a human-sized target is indisputable. Slugs offer longer range, but as a slug is a single projectile it offers no spread like shot could have. To give you a more definitive answer, you nearly certainly want 00 buck. This is a little hard to get during the ammo drought, but we are regularly sourcing 00 buck and putting it on our site. Please check back in soon to see what we can do for you! Alternatively you may use 0 buck, 000 buck, 1, 3, or 4 buck, or even T shot, but these are all kind of rare even when there isn't a shortage. I personally consult this guide to keep track of it all: rivermenrodandgunclub.com/shot-size-chart--recommendations.html (The shotshell on this page is loaded with birdshot that is optimal for trapshooting and hunting rabbits and smaller game birds.)
