As its box does more than imply, this is a 20 Gauge shell that’s thoroughly designed for trap, although it excels in skeet and clay shooting as well. Q: Is NobelSport #8 pellet shot considered 00 buck? Is it a good home defense shot in a 20 gauge Mossberg? Indoor range only allows 00 or slugs so would this #8 be acceptable? I have slugs. Please answer questions and provide any other pertinent info. Thank you.

These #8 shot shells by NobelSport are not 00buck. #8 shells will have more pellets that are a smaller diameter each than 00buck. The #8 shells will also have a wider spread pattern than 00buck. For home defense, I would recommend either slugs, 00buck, 000buck, #1, or #4 shells. #8 is most common for target shooting and trap shooting. If your range only allows slugs or 00buck, then you will need one of those for that range.
