Details

A match grade round with a penchant for exceptional accuracy and good looks. The Federal Hunter Match .22LR with a 40 grain projectile is an exceptionally built .22LR that offers premium accuracy and extreme reliability.

The nickel plated brass rimfire cartridge casing allows good feeding and extraction, as well as providing a very good-looking cartridge capable of accuracy that regular run-of the-mill .22LR couldn’t hope to achieve. The secrete to the accuracy and reliability is the consistency of components and the consistency of powder burn rate and velocity. Federal Premium has pulled out all of the stops to create a round so reliably consistent that you can just about guarantee the dispatch of small game at distances exceeding 75 yards, and you can guarantee same hole accuracy potential at the same distance on targets.

The lead hollow point weighing 40 grains is also a model of consistency, but it offers an above average set of ballistic numbers too. 1200 fps out of the barrel and 125 ft. lbs. of energy is enough to make this a dedicated hunting round with performance few other loads can match in .22LR. An essential round for those that want to use .22LR for longer range hunting shots that need absolute accuracy, or those who know the accuracy potential and want a well-priced target load for same hole potential on paper.
