A: Thanks for reaching out Jesse! The FMJ is not a hunting projectile and will not expand as it penetrates soft tissue. The bullet may fragment apart, but that doesn't constitute optimal terminal ballistics as far as hunting is concerned. You could certainly take a boar with this ammo – a clean shot to the nect to sever the spinal column would do the trick nicely. But I never advise using FMJ ammo for deer hunting (even though it can be done).

223 Rem hunting ammo is typically designed for taking varmints, which the relatively weak cartridge excels at. That said, the best thing we have in stock for you right now may be our Fiocchi 55gr PSP ammo:

A: Yes ma'am! SAAMI makes all of their ammunition to SAAMI specs, except for their 50 BMG and some of their 5.56 ammo which they make to military spec. This particular ammo is SAAMI spec.

A: Hello Adam, These 55gr. FMJ rounds by PMC in .223 are non-magnetic. They have a lead core, copper jacket, and a brass case. You can safely shoot them at a range that does not allow magnetic rounds.
