The Sierra Match King, was for years the bullet to beat, in just about any caliber. The pairing of Federal Premium’s super high quality control and components like the Sierra Match King, and in the straight shooting 77 grain configuration, makes this a true contender for .223 bulk shooting at the highest match levels.

This 223 Remington load represents some of the best accuracy at the price point and even punches a couple of classes above its weight, with the combination of accuracy enhancing variables it’s packing. The proven Sierra Match King boat tail hollow point; the premium brass and primer; the clean burning powder that leaves very little unburned, and the grain weight; when shot out of a 1 in 7 or 1 in 8 twist barrel is about as accurate as you can get for a factory load without going to the ultra-match quality rounds.

The price is steep for any match ammo when you’re buying bulk .223, but for special conditions, like hunting or hardcore match shooting this is definitely a candidate and you’ll find it’s cheap for the type of performance you’ll be getting.

Certainly capable of MOA at heavy distances, this bullet stabilizes better than just about any other in its grain weight or design profile. It’s just a proven player, and if you haven’t shot some yet, prepare to be enamored by the accuracy and quality.

A: Yes, this Federal 77gr BTHP ammunition is loaded to "magazine length" and will fit in AR15/M16 magazines.

A: This depends on several factors. The longer the barrel of your AR-15, the greater the chances are that it will stabilize longer projectiles, with a 20" or longer barrel being a much better choice than a 14.5" or 16" barrel. Also, the twist may not be exactly 1 in 9 - some 1 in 9 barrels are actually 1 turn in 8.5 inches, or 1 turn in 9.5 inches, depending on production variations. If your rifle has a long enough barrel and/or a slightly faster twist rate and does stabilize 77 grain projectiles at 100 yards, it might not stabilize them at 200, 300, or even out to 600 yards, which these Federal 77gr HPBT cartridges are easily capable of reaching out to if properly stabilized. You might find that your rifle's barrel performs better with 69gr HPBT or 75gr HPBT projectiles.
