Details

A great “newcomer” to the deer and elk market, this .270 WSM (Winchester Short Magnum) is ballistically potent and offers massive speed and hard-hitting power in a shorter cartridge length which has many benefits over typical long action Magnums, not the least of which is the comfort of shooting a more manageable round and offering a shorter bolt stroke. The Fusion line is a dedicated big game line that utilizes a unique and innovative production technology that has been around for a while but never really effectively used in the bullet production market until Federal popularized it with this high-performance cartridge line. That is the electrochemical bonding of the jacket onto the lead core which almost eliminates problems with jacket separation and weight retention.

This resulting better weight retention and soft core allows for great deformation, hard hitting penetration and yet, a cheaper overall buildout. That allows bargain pricing for rounds like this short run .270WSM which would ordinarily hold a premium price point and yet, it still provides similar ballistics.

The round is built into a premium brass casing and the Boxer primer makes it easily reloadable for those who want great donor brass. The 150 grain fusion bullet is easily suitable for small bears, elk, moose and deer and even some of the thicker skinned rams and other hard to hunt game animals.
