The Hydra-Shok JHP features a covered base for reduced fouling, a wide-mouth cavity bordered by deep jacket serrations, and a tall lead plunger that occupies the center of the cavity. By design, the plunger is intended to deflect debris from intermediate barriers like drywall and denim that would otherwise clog the cavity and prevent expansion. The 158 grain projectile weight is common for the .357 caliber and is proven to penetrate deep and deliver gracious amounts of energy. During entry into a threat, the bullet's mushrooming transformation will cause it to yaw, slow, and create a large wound cavity in tissue while depositing all of its energy to vital organs in order to yield rapid incapacitation.
