A nice price on a potent round made through the collaboration of Hornady and Fiocchi (in a sense). Fiocchi has opted to use the Hornady XTP projectile to make a heavy hitting round for the .357 Magnum that also has a low price of entry and a high-value-added feature set. The 158 grain projectile is the proven XTP bullet that offers uniformity in expansion capability; uniformity in diameter of expansion; high retained weight; high delivery of energy upon impact; great accuracy and good penetration while still being a large grain weight for the caliber.
Fiocchi loaded this exceptional projectile into a proven case made from nickel plated brass that is prized by reloaders because of the structural integrity of the case; and added a clean mix of proprietary powders that are made in house by Fiocchi on site in Italy. The primer, also made in house by Fiocchi in Italy is a premium primer that is made on the Boxer platform, ensuring excellent reloadability with an easy turnaround time.
The resulting load offers a very potent self defense round at a range and target load price point for the .357 Magnum, and the cartridge is suitable for use in any .357 Magnum firearm with a high level of reliability and functional operation.
