Details

This .38 Special ammunition from Federal works well for recoil sensitive shooters and those who simply don't like the kick of a subcompact carry revolver firing full power ammunition. Lower recoil is more than a matter of comfort; it makes faster follow-up shots much easier as well.

Each cartridge in this case of 200 fires a 110 grain jacketed hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of roughly 980 feet per second. The use of a light bullet enables this ammo to deliver reduced recoil without sacrificing expansion potential, although it does reduce penetration slightly.

Federal Personal Defense ammo is loaded in Anoka, Minnesota using non-corrosive Boxer primers and nickel-plated brass cases. It uses Hydra-Shok bullets, which have a proven record as a self-defense load thanks to their effective center-post design.
