Independence has a great set of company to associate with in the ammunition world and a nice history of producing ammunition. It has found a niche area of the market to call its own and has grown well as a result. The clean, classic loadings it focuses on with the mainstream rounds it produces for commodity calibers in full metal jacket designs, is a forte that has carved out a name for the once, quite small company. With peers as good as the ones that share the same parent company as Independence though, it was kind of a foregone conclusion that they would find great success in the production of ammunition.
Independence is part of the group that used to be in the Alliant Techsystems/Orbital/ATK stable of companies before it spun off the Vista Outdoor brand so that they could segregate the production aspects of the companies under their stewardship. Orbital-ATK remained focused on Aerospace and Military defense contracts on the hardware side, while their investment ownership in Vista outdoors would still allow them to tap into the lucrative munitions and sport shooting markets, which included military and law enforcement arms and ammunition contracts. Independence has benefitted greatly from the past and current industry affiliations it enjoys.
