A six petal design, reminiscent of the earliest personal defense rounds by Winchester Ammunition division, is the centerpiece to this efficient .380 load made to meet the resurgence of .380Autos on the market. This 95 grain bonded, jacketed hollow point in the Winchester Supreme Elite PDX1 Defender line is rapidly gaining attention for the stopping power it produces.
Achieving about 10 inches of penetration with 1000 feet per second velocity out of the muzzle and more than 200 foot pounds of energy (205 ft. lbs.) this is a showstopper compared to most of its contemporary round competitors. In fact it’s so far beyond what most loads in .380 can do that it leaves “competitors” in the dust for the most part.
More than the impressive numbers though, is this round’s ability to work in a vast majority of the new small framed .380’s in the marketplace. This is something most of the personal defense rounds struggle to be able to accomplish. The versatility across rounds (though it is pricy) makes this an obvious winner when it comes down to selecting what to trust your life with. If you’re using a .380 Auto as a carry weapon this should at least be on your radar as a potential ammunition choice.
