During the 1986 FBI Miamo Shootout a pair of ruthless serial bank robbers involved a group of FBI agents in a firefight. It took place in the streets of Miami, and although the bank robbers were repeatedly shot during the course of the battle, they continued to fight for some time before finally succumbing to their wounds. Two FBI agents were killed that day, one of whom was a sharpshooter by the name of Ben Grogan. That Grogan could have been killed in the manner that he was disturbed a number of his fellow agents as well as some experts who examined the aftermath. In response to the events of the firefight the FBI requested a new cartridge be designed, and Smith and Wesson complied with the creation of the .40 S&W.
At 180 grain these are considered heavy for this cartridge size; these rounds will strike targets with substantial force. These are Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) rounds and begin to expand immediately upon impact. The jackets on these bullets control expansion so it occurs more slowly, allowing for greater penetration and the creation of a more devastating wound channel. In addition, jackets help prevent lead fouling in your gun’s barrel. Each of these rounds leaves the barrel of your gun with a muzzle velocity of 935 feet per second and muzzle energy of 350 foot-pounds. Prvi Partizan designed these rounds for self-defense.
There are 500 defense rounds in this box. You’ll burn through the entire box a lot faster than you might think; defense rounds produce more power overall than target rounds do, making it more difficult to manage accurate follow-up shots. That means the only way to ensure your own performance, should you be faced with a life-threatening situation, is to practice with the same ammunition you conceal carry with. It’s wise to use this 500-round box for training purposes rather than to let it sit aside and be used only for daily carry. Prvi Partizan manufactures this ammunition at their plant in Uzice, Serbia; all ammunition is produced according to SAAMI or CIP specifications. Don’t wait another moment to place your order and begin training to become a more capable self-defense shooter.
