Silver Bear ammunition 9mm ammo is zinc-plated steel cased. It is made at the Barnaul plant in the southwestern region of Siberia. The steel cases are coated in zinc to prevent rust. The projectiles are bi-metal, and this is some of the most affordable range ammunition one can find.
The Barnaul plant is said to have supplied over 50% of the USSR's small-arms ammunition during WWII. This region of Russia is also known as Altai Krai, and borders Kazakhstan to the south. Steel-cased ammunition is non-reloadable and magnetic.

Could not get through one magazine with out the ammo jamming up. Was very frustrating. Ammo was also very dirty. I was using a brand new gun. Would be a good price for the ammo if it worked better. (Posted on 7/25/2016)

Put 250rnds of the 500 with only one failure to fire. It fired a 2nd time. Aside from the ammo being dirtier than brass, it performed great. My Canik TP9v2 ate it up just fine. (Posted on 7/3/2016)

i had 2 failure to fire in about 200 rounds, although, it did make good tap and rack practice at the desert last weekend. the 2 rounds did fire when tried a second time.

Never had a single problem with silver bear ammo in 9mm or .380. Fired over 400 9mm rounds through my berreta px4 storm and not a single problem. Isn't even that dirty considering the price. My go to ammo in 9mm and .380. (Posted on 11/25/2014)
