I only run PMC 223/5.56 because cost and performance is not matched. Got a 308 carbine built with LPVO ideal for 0-500 yds defense reflex shooting of closer range hunting. This ammo ran like a dream, no FTF, moa @100 yds if I did my part. 8" steel plate @500 yds was automatic once scope was dialed in great budget ammo and good reloading brass (Posted on 3/18/2024)

If you are looking for the best bargain .308, without a steel case, this is about as good as it gets. Accurate and reliable for plinking iron.
Packaging is sparse, there is no plastic carriage inside the cardboard box. The rounds are packed in the same size box as before, but just loose in the box. I'm sure this is due to recent manufacturing demand and to keep prices down.

I ordered this over Memorial weekend, so I didn't expect to receive it until Friday. It arrived Wednesday, much earlier than I had expected. The packaging was great, not just jumbled and loose in the box. The ammo itself I've always had excellent results with: it shoots clean and accurate, and I have never had a misfire. I'd recommend this if you are looking to stock up on a cheap, clean and reliable round, with fast and efficient shipping. I've used the PMC 308 147 GR FMJBT for over a year, firing around 1000 rounds with no malfunctions and very good accuracy in my DPMS 308 recon G2. It shoots right around 1 MOA from an inexpensive mounted bipod on the ground in real world situations (no covered table with gun sitting on a bag at fancy ranges) I can get one inch patterns at 100 yards, and three inch patterns at 200 yards in all seasons in eastern Maine. I would recommend the ammo for hunting or combat within a couple hundred yards where near infinite penetration beyond the target is not an issue. Bulk Ammo service is great, I've also ordered substantial quantities of Blazer Brass 9 X 19 MM, with great reliability and performance with Glocks. If there's any problems, they always answer the phone and did accept a return and gave store credit on an odd case of defective Fioche 9MM ammo that was not their fault; very reassurring and customer oriented. PMC is good ammo. It's not match and we know that, but it's great for plinking,basic target practice,function testing,etc. I would never use this stuff for zeroing a scope/sight,hunting,(I guess any ammo could be used in a self defence senario but ths damn sure wouldn't be my first choice)

I've got an M&P 10 /.308 and shot tight groups @ 100 Yrds. Shot about 90 rounds of this stuff and burned clean. Hardly any carbon build up on the bolt, BCG & barrel. Clean Rounds at a bargain price - Can you ask for more ....

I recently purchased PMC .308 ammo - had a miserable time trying to sight-in my Targetmaster" scope using Magtech ammo. Couldn't get a good grouping!! I have put 500 rds thru a SIG 716 without any issues. Tight groups at 100 & 200 yards and consistently able to hit steel plates out to 500. Great for the range and your average shooter like myself. (Posted on 8/15/2013)

I bought this ammo to try in a new Savage model 10 bolt action rifle with a 1:10 barrel. The ammo shot very clean, I didnt have to work very hard to get the patchs to come out clean. I didnt have any rounds fail to fire. I was shooting the rifle from a bench rest and at 100 yards was getting very inconsistant groupings, anything from 1 to 4 inch groups.
When I changed over to 168gr match grade round the rifle shot half inch to one inch groups at 100 yards. (Posted on 8/7/2013)

Very good ammunitioun. At the range, goofing off, not getting real serious,but keeping safety a top priority, I put 250 rounds down range @ 250 meters, blowed out the bullseye, with the rest of the shots well within the target silioute. Type weopon used; M1A SCOUT RIFLE [SPRINGFIELD]. With this type of weopon, and this type of ammunitioun, any dumb cluck can become a potencial sniper. OH! Before I forget, I used iron sites only! A: Generally speaking, the 308 round should be fired only in a 308 chamber/barrel. Most manufacturers, like PMC, will load their 308 rounds to be acceptable in both 308 and 7.62x51 rifles, with a loading closer to the 7.62 round.
(This is similar to the .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO differences). Special attention should be taken with older rifles as these chambers designated for the 7.62 round may not safely tolerate a 308 round.
