This 223 Rem cartridge from Hornady’s Frontier line of ammunition offers excellent value to the high volume shooting enthusiast. Hornady has teamed up with the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant to produce it, so it offers a brass casing with an annealed case neck and shoulder that improve its longevity, as well as a Boxer primer with a military-style crimp. This round’s ball powder compensates for its caliber’s casing’s somewhat lesser internal capacity.
This round’s 55 grain FMJ projectile features the highly concentric jacket for which its manufacturer is so well known. Its stellar accuracy will lend itself to rewarding range training, and although it is not an expanding projectile we should imagine that few prairie dogs would enjoy having one of these bullets directed toward them. The bullet will minimize the amount of fouling caused within a bore, and its versatility means that you may enjoy firing it from any rifle that would chamber it.

And what is the velocity of these rounds?
