Sinking a chunk of cash into brass is great if you reload your casings. But if you don’t know a reloading press from a French press, you’re not benefitting all that much by leaving a bunch of valuable brass on the ground. That’s why this 45 ACP cartridge by Federal is so great: Its heat-treated, aircraft-grade aluminum casing is substantially more cost-effective than brass, and is even outfitted with Federal’s Boxer primer and clean burning propellant. This case of aluminum cased ammo is also about seven pounds lighter than usual!

This 45 ACP round offers a standard 230 grain projectile. As a full metal jacket, it’s exactly what you want for range training thanks to its smooth feeding and low fouling nature. Federal’s jacket boasts the concentricity a bullet needs to beeline straight toward its target. The bullet won’t expand in a soft target, but you’d rather have a case of FMJs on hand than nothing at all when SHTF.
