This round is topped off with a 124 grain bullet, the middle weight for a factory load in its caliber. The bullet’s full metal jacket is not considered ideal for self-defense by a long shot, as it prohibits the kind of expansion that inflicts greater damage within a soft target. That said, such a bullet is substantially more cost-effective for target shooting and plinking, and its ability to promote reliable feeding from a magazine as well as prevent rapid bore fouling make the FMJ the gold standard when no lives are on the line.
Magtech gave this round consistent components. Its primer and propellant both spark nice and clean to keep a pistol shooting straighter, longer, and its brass casing extracts like a charm before it’s ready to be reloaded. A great deal on a case of ammo that’s both fun and rewarding to fire!
