Best case scenario? A bad hombre will never cross your path. Everyone you meet will tip their hat to you and say “Good day, sir/ma’am,” and your home will remain unbroken into for all your days.
We can’t promise that the universe’ll treat you to a best case scenario. But what we can do is ship police-grade 5.56x45 ammunition to your home and hope for the best.
This round’s not loaded with some cheap FMJ that you’d only want to use for target practice. Its bullet’s lead core and copper jacket are bonded: fused closely together, in which state they help the bullet avoid fragmentation that might have hindered its ability to reach the threat’s vitals. The bullet’s soft point design is relatively simple, albeit effective at driving the terminal expansion which inflicts more soft tissue trauma. With good shot placement and within reasonable range, a 64 grain bonded soft point could and would knock down a whitetail. (But this is Federal Personal Defense ammunition, and we are obliged to market it as such.)
You’re looking at ammo with new brass cases. The shells’ discoloration throws some shooters for a loop, but it’s simply evidence that they were made correctly and nothing more.
