Details

This 9mm cartridge from Federal’s Hydra-Shok Deep line of ammunition features a 135 grain jacketed hollow point projectile. Like the original Hydra-Shok, this bullet features a center post which prevents its cavity from clogging with fabric and other types of barriers upon impact. That design has been improved, however, by making the post more robust so that it can resist even more substantial barriers. This bullet is designed to reliably penetrate 15 inches deep in soft targets, a depth recognized by the FBI as ideal for self-defense -- it makes overpenetration that would jeopardize a bystander significantly less likely to occur.

This cartridge features a nickel plated brass casing which is reloadable, feeds smoothly, and resists corrosion remarkably well. Its casing’s sheen makes this cartridge more visible in the dark, a nice feature for chamber checks in low light environments. The round’s propellant is specially formulated to deliver a reliable muzzle velocity of 1,060 fps, and its primer is dependable to match. It’s a fine choice for your everyday carry, and with 20 of them at your disposal you’ll be able to load even a beefy double stack. (The magazine, not the delicious hamburger.)
