Every piece of this cartridge is improved in some way. Its cases? Plated in nickel, for enhanced visibility in the chamber, protection against corrosion, and smooth feeding/extraction in a semi-automatic. Its propellant? Formulated for flash reduction, so bright light won’t temporarily blind you at night. Its primers and case mouths? Both sealed for even greater reliability.

That brass jacketed hollow point is one fine piece of work, too. The 147 grain bullet is armored against fragmentation that could lead to insufficient penetration. It is also aggressively serrated around its nose, which helps it control expansion, optimize energy transferral, and deliver enormous damage to surrounding soft tissues.

Remington recorded this round’s 990 fps muzzle velocity with a 4” barrel. Striking energy at 25 yards is approximately 304 ft lbs.
