This 223 Rem cartridge features Winchester’s Power Point, a soft point bullet formed through a cup and draw process that grants it the ability to expand fast and reliably in soft tissue. While typically billed as a hunting bullet, the Power Point’s destructive terminal performance suits it for personal protection just as well.
This round’s Power Point weighs 64 grains. That is heavier than the caliber’s more common 55 grain bullet, and its heft grants it greater accuracy as it resists wind drift downrange. The Power Point design promotes superior weight retention, and with additional weight to retain it consistently penetrates very deeply within soft tissue.
