The ELD-X is such a great feat of engineering that you may just feel guilty firing it! This Hornady Precision Hunter series 243 Win cartridge is match accurate right up until impact – at which point it becomes almost surprisingly deadly.
The real star of the ELD-X show is the Heat Shield tip. It is made of polymer that will not deform while it is roasted by aerodynamic friction, thus assuring that the bullet presents a perfectly streamlined nose toward its target. Hornady’s outstandingly concentric AMP jacket, secant ogive profile and boat tail also contribute to the 90 grain bullet’s abnormally high 0.409 G1 ballistic coefficient.
