Whether you’d chamber this round in an AK-47 or SKS, you’re certain to find that it performs peerlessly -- that’s the promise behind Hornady’s BLACK line of ammunition, products which deliver no matter the inner workings of the weapon they’re chambered in. This 7.62x39 cartridge features a high quality brass casing which feeds and ejects smoothly, and is totally reloadable unlike a lot of steel cased ammunition you’ll find out there.

This round sports a 123 grain SST projectile. The bullet’s ballistic coefficient is very high thanks to its secant ogive profile, boat tail design, and polymer tip. That tip initiates rapid expansion upon impact when it drives deeply within the bullet’s core, making this round as effective for self-defense and hunting as it is casual target practice. The SST also boasts superior weight retention, as its InterLock ring mechanically locks its core and jacket together during penetration.
