Looking for top shelf 38 Special self-defense ammunition? You can never go wrong with Hornady’s American Gunner ammo. It’s made in Nebraska, it’s loaded in accordance with strict specs for quality, it’s thoroughly inspected, and it features its manufacturer’s highly reliable eXtreme Terminal Performance projectile!

This cartridge’s 125 grain jacketed hollow point features a swaged lead core and drawn gilding metal jacket. Its uniform weight distribution gives the XTP the rotational stability it needs to exhibit admirable accuracy. Its progressively tapered jacket and symmetrical array of notches both facilitate expansion over a generous range of velocities. The XTP’s jacket fully protects its rim, which promotes smoother feeding into a lever gun’s chamber and prevents deformation until the XTP has entered into a soft medium. The XTP also features a cannelure that’ll keep recoil from jarring it loose from its seating in the case mouth – that promotes unobstructed cylinder rotation.

Hornady gives these rounds the clean-burning propellant they need to produce a consistent 900 fps muzzle velocity in conjunction with a 4” barrel. Their straight-walled, concentric and reloadable brass cases promise smooth functionality in all 357 Mag and 38 Special firearms. Order your case and be prepared!
