Go grab whichever lubricant you prefer for lubricating your favorite 45 Long Colt rifle – or only 45 Long Colt rifle – and get excited! We’ve got Winchester’s newest offering to American lever-heads. It’s American Lever Range, dude!
This ammo’s not excessively specialized. Revolvers can still fire it. Winchester just loaded it with an old-fashioned 250 grain lead flat nose, which sports the very same profile that sits safest in a tubular magazine and feeds smoothest into a lever gun’s chamber.
This is low-recoiling ammo, like the kind Cowboy Action Shooters might choose. That 900 fps muzzle velocity only appears high until you realize the beautiful truth behind it. Winchester recorded it using a 20” test barrel, so an SAA or Judge is bound to shoot way slower.
This ammo’s bullets would be right at home in the 1800s, but its powder is modern. Clean burning. Reduced fouling. Very nice!
