This 300 AAC Blackout cartridge by Magtech only has a muzzle velocity of 1,050 fps, which is substantially lower than the supersonic threshold. That means it’s significantly quieter than comparable rounds in its caliber when it’s fired, and even more so when utilized in conjunction with a silencer. The little “PFFF” made when you fire subsonic ammo is very satisfying to hear, and it’s great for comfortably training newcomers to the sport who might be a little put off by loud bangs. It’s also perfect for training wherever you’re concerned about disturbing your neighbor’s privacy.
This round’s 200 grain bullet is heavy enough to compensate for its lesser velocity. The projectile features a full metal jacket, so it both reliably penetrates targets as well as preserves your bore against the kind of rapid fouling which would have quickly drained your accuracy during an extended shooting session.
