When you have a fresh-out-of-the-factory steel ammo can – and it’s packed full of 500 rounds of brand new (i.e. not reloaded or remanufactured) 5.56x45 ammunition – the world’s not just your oyster. It is your clam. Your mussel. Your scallop. It is every type of shellfish that it’s good to be!
The only shells you’ll find in this ammo can are made of brass. They are loaded with noncorrosive Boxer-style primers. They are loaded with nonmagnetic 55 grain full metal jacket projectiles, too, which those primers send flying at a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps.
Wait a minute … 55 grain FMJ … 3,240 fps MV … great Scott! Do those specs make this ammunition very similar to the 5.56 M193 that the U.S. military issues for target practice and field use? By cracky, they do!
American Quality Ammunition hasn’t piled their 5.56 into just any old steel ammo can. It is brand new; not all painted/scuffed/scraped like military surplus ones. Just smooth, olive drab green goodness.
