Your Colt Delta Elite or Glock 20 will exhibit incredible terminal performance when you load it up with Federal's venerable Hydra-Shok cartridges. Hydra-Shok has been around for a long time and has a name that's well known to high-volume shooters and police agencies. Federal Premium themselves got started in 1922 and have been trusted to supply ammunition to law enforcement professionals, Olympic-level competitive shooters, and hunters who travel all across the world. They make their own components in-house and are constantly implementing new innovations using the latest technology combined with real-world feedback from end users.

These 10mm Hydra-Shok loads launch a 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP) projectile which is designed for determined expansion after defeating intermediate barriers. This is accomplished by the use of a cavity that is wide in diameter and surrounded by skiving as well as a lead center-post which is intended to deflect clogs from clothing. Each bullet is seated within a reloadable brass casing that is nickel-plated and equipped with a non-corrosive Boxer primer. The nickel material resists degradation, improves cycling, and helps identify this ammo as self-defense stock.

A: Hi Jim. Thanks for looking to BulkAmmo.com for your ammo needs. The muzzle energy of this particular 10mm round is 424 ft/lbs. The 10mm, while one of the "kings" of combat rounds, is a pitifully weak round for large dangerous game at its very best. The hottest, highest energy round made (to my knowledge) is only 728 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle. By comparison, the 5.56 round generates nearly twice that amount of energy and no one would consider it a large, dangerous game round. Let me know if we can help you pick the right round for you. A: Hi Roger. We have had no shooter complaints about these in any handgun. They should work well, but as you know, handguns can be finicky about the rounds they prefer. I suggest you try a single box before you invest in an entire case.
