Details

Winchester’s Varmint round for the .17 HMR (Hornady Magnum Rimfire) which pushes a 17 grain bullet out at 2550 feet per second at that muzzle for sure kills at moderate ranges for small game and varmints.

Winchester is utilizing the V-Max projectile with a polymer tip from Hornady which has become the standard for performance in the field, for the innovative load that has built a new industry practically by itself: Varmint specific rimfire hunting rounds.

The .17 HMR is a .22 magnum rimfire cartridge with a necked down end to accept a 4.5mm projectile which came originally as a 17 grain .17 caliber bullet. The benefit is that you get an exciting new (it’s not so new anymore) rimfire round that has a ton of power and shoots flat, fast and accurately, with a kind of childlike fun that you probably haven’t experienced since you first shot a rimfire and realized you could do it all day, and it had a certain novelty to it.

The round itself is a perfect varmint load with a flat trajectory that puts lethal holes into small nuisance animals with aplomb. Winchester’s reputation for producing high quality ammunition and other shooting products makes it a sure bet that you will be getting the same quality that gave the staying power for more than a century and a half.

Suitable for use in any .17 HMR firearm. Packaged in 50 round boxes; case of 1000 rounds.
