The projectile used in this load is a 150-grain Flat Soft Point (FSP). It fits right in the middle of the .30-30 caliber's weight spectrum and comprises a copper-jacketed bullet with an exposed and flattened lead tip. This shape makes the round safe for storage in tube magazines where it will rest flush against the primer of another round. Upon entry into a deer or small boar, the bullet's naked lead tip will produce pronounced expansion, causing the bullet to slow while yawing and deliver more potent energy to vital areas. An included toothed cannelure at the middle of the bullet's body prevents jacket separation which could otherwise lead to inadequate penetration depth and a wounded, running game animal.
