Details
Hornady designed this particular ammunition to help you squeeze every last bit of accuracy out of your .300 AAC Blackout rifle whether it be a shelf model or a custom build. Each cartridge is led by an A-MAX projectile which was designed by Hornady for precision and high ballistic coefficient. The 208-grain bullet has a lead core of consistent density wrapped in an AMP copper jacket for near-perfect concentricity; this contributes to pure balance and smaller groups. The tip of the bullet compromises a polymer tip which acts as a smooth windshield for sleek drag resistance. While Hornady does not recommend the A-MAX for hunting, there is a long record of shooters that have taken down various game with the round.
The .300 BLK projectile sits atop a reloadable brass casing which is equipped with a mercury-free Boxer primer so that no caustic chemicals pose a corrosive threat to your precision rifle or pig stick. Inside the case is an exact measure of clean-burning powder that has been leveled for subsonic performance at 1,020 feet-per-second from a 16-inch barrel. That makes this ammo perfect for running through a silencer/suppressor which is exactly the role that this caliber was designed to fit. Hornady's choice of propellant also burns fully and leaves less mess to be tumbled away from brass, fewer bits of carbon caked on bolts and chambers, and minimal unburnt fouling left among your baffles.
