These Speer Hollow Point .357 Magnum cartridges are designed for self-defense but they can be used for target shooting as well. It is a well-known fact that you should put in range time with the defensive ammo you plan to carry in your firearm, and these Speer Gold Dots are no exception. These rounds are loaded up with the widely known, heavy duty 158 grain GDHP, or Gold Dot Hollow Point bullets. The GDHP's have an impressively quick muzzle velocity of 1235-feet per second, and a hard-hitting muzzle energy of 535-foot pounds.

The high-quality Speer rounds are loaded into a thick, heavy-walled, newly and reloadable, Boxer primed, non-corrosive brass cases. This 357 Magnum ammo comes in smaller 20 round boxes so they are easy to transport whenever someone wants to take his firearms out for a day on the range, or take his family out for a bit of plinking fun. Get yourself a couple boxes today!

The famous and infamous .357 Magnum round was designed in 1934 and introduced in 1935. It has a long bloody history of stopping criminals with its hard-hitting bullet, impressive speed, and effective momentum. During the 1930s crime was everywhere and Police departments required a more powerful round that could pierce the armor and vehicles of the period. Smith and Wesson helped with the continued development and standardization of the .357 Magnum. Soon after, they were able to demonstrate the cartridge to Police Departments all over the nation, and many of them happily received the new deadlier round.
