Atop the cartridge is a 95-grain JHP (jacketed hollow point) projectile with six rounded petals surrounding a deep divot. During entry into a threat target, the hollow divot will cause the bullet to expand in a wide fashion as the petals peel to the rear of the round. The dense construction of the petals is intended to prevent premature fragmentation, allowing the round the penetrate to an adequate depth before coming to a halt. As a result, the .380 ACP bullet will deliver greater energy to vital areas while reducing the chance of over-penetration.
