Detailed Analysis:

Reliability

Reports from users highlight thousands of rounds fired in numerous pistols with virtually no misfires, failures to feed, or failures to eject, even during extended range sessions. Most malfunctions are rare and often attributed to dirty guns rather than the ammo.

Performance

The ammunition is consistently praised for accurate, dependable performance, functioning flawlessly in a wide range of handguns and even resolving reliability issues found with other brands. A small minority note minor deviations in felt recoil, but these did not affect operation.

Bargain

Repeatedly highlighted as a top value choice, offering affordable pricing compared to competitors and rapid shipping, making it a go-to option for bulk purchases and regular shooters.

What to Know (The Nuances)

• Cleanliness: Several users note PMC Bronze runs a bit dirtier than high-end brands (like American Eagle), but most find it manageable and not a significant issue for typical range use.
• Casing Material: Brass cases are frequently highlighted as a positive, particularly for reloaders; customers approve of the brass quality and ease of cleaning.
• Best Use Case: Consistently described as ideal for range practice and target shooting rather than premium or defensive use.
• Occasional Anomalies: Isolated reports of rounds with slightly inconsistent bang or extraction issues in non-standard firearms, but no consistent pattern of malfunctions.

Conclusion

PMC Bronze .40 S&W ammo stands out as a favorite among recreational shooters seeking reliable, affordable ammo for practice and plinking, with minimal functional issues and high satisfaction rates. Its brass cases make it a strong candidate for reloaders. While slightly dirtier than some alternatives, the reliable ignition, broad compatibility, and excellent value make it an easy recommendation for anyone prioritizing consistent range performance and bulk affordability.

A: Yes sir, this round's FMJ does contain a lead core. Its base is not jacketed, so it will produce aerosolized lead and barrel fouling during ignition. If you're concerned about those things during target practice, then I would recommend the total metal jacket (TMJ). The TMJ has a lead core, but its jacket completely seals the core against white hot propellant gasses during ignition. That translates to significantly cleaner performance all around. Here are the 40 S&W TMJ options we currently have in stock: https://www.bulkammo.com/handgun/bulk-.40-s-w-ammo?jacket_type=80

A: Sorry for the confusion Blake. This 1000-round case of ammo does in fact contain 20 50-round boxes.
