The .45 GAP is a great innovation that may not be as popular with some as it is with others, but for those who have adopted it, it was a naturally good idea. The shortened framework for a cartridge that so closely competes with a much longer round *(the .45 ACP) makes those with smaller hands or who prefer different grip sizes much more capable in defensive and range settings. The Glock Automatic Pistol load by Winchester in the equivalent of the “Winchester White Box” packaging offers a very nice “hardball round” for the newer shorter cartridge.
The reliability of the WWB (Winchester White Box) has been legendary for decades, and this round will be no exception. The dialing in for the Winchester production line of this cartridge was probably quite easy, given the thoughtful .45 GAP architecture and the already popular base of fans and production facilities for the .45 ACP which is truly quite close in overall specifications to the round.
This cartridge offers good performance, great reliability and feeding and offers a cheaper alternative to the practice routine for those who love and shoot the .45 GAP as the production numbers still necessitate a higher cost per round basis.
