This russian made cartridge offers a Berdan primed steel casing. Steel’s popularity in Russia as a casing material is attributable to a couple of factors. First, it is far less expensive to produce than brass, and Russia is rich with iron ore deposits. Second, it is non-reloadable, a trait that the Russian government favors so they can keep track of how just much ammunition their civilian population has access to. If you do not intend to handload, then this cartridge presents great value. Its casing has a polymer coating to help it feed and eject reliably, too.

I had heard that this ammo, since it is significantly shorter than the ammo mentioned above, causes feed jams, and other problems. On a lark, I bought four boxes, just to see for myself.
Accuracy is now half dollar size groups with iron sights. No jams or other ftf issues.
I'm buying more. (Posted on 1/31/16)
