Ammo Overview

Quantity - 50 rounds per box
Manufacturer - Fiocchi
Bullets - 100 grain Frangible
Casings - Boxer primed brass

Frangible rounds have their dedicated use cases, and this is a fantastic round for those who live with the risk of overpenetration in their urban homes or in small dwellings where family members might be asleep in the other room. The concept behind the frangible round is that the maximum energy impact is given at introduction to the target and the bullet “disintegrates” after hitting that target because of the makeup of the bullet which is designed to break apart into less lethal fragments after initial impact.

It has therefore historically been used for placements where there is risk for crowd casualties and friendly fire, as well as increased risk of ricochet and deflection (like with hard backdrops and unknown backgrounds). This is a 9mm round with a 100 grain frangible bullet.

Considering the small price increase of this specialty ammunition over standard loads, this round can easily be justified for uses ranging from target shooting to personal protection and plinking. Many consider frangible rounds to be very effective threat stoppers – though many will debate that theory in a hotly contested argument that rages on, in forums everywhere. What we know for sure is that frangible rounds offer additional peace of mind and a comfortable shooting experience.
