bought 1000 rounds, thought the price was too good to be true...it was, iv never had so many malfunctions in my life. using my pretty new Springfield xd-9, with in the first 50 rounds i started getting a malfunction every 3-5 shots, at 150 rounds it was nearly 1 for 1. like i said the price was great for a very unreliable product, DONT USE IN LIFE OR DEATH SCENARIO!!!!! Bought 2k rounds of this garbage and ended up pawning off 1500 of off on a poor sap at the gun shop.
2-3 misfeeds per 10round mag. Not just my firearm either. my Ruger , Glock, or Sig all jammed. It even lodged a bullet in the Glock barrel. So after the cost of a new barrel I would have been better off just paying for the most expensive ammo on here. (Posted on 6/25/2016)

MAXXTECH COOK OFF!!!
I ordered 1,000 rounds of 9mm MAXXTech 114gr FMJ. I shot them through my HK VP9 and Taurus PT111 G2
Every 4 rounds failed to eject, due to the casing expanding in the chamber. After 50 or so rounds, I had a round cook off! The barrel and slide were NOT HOT to the touch.

Shot this in a CZ P07 that I've put hundreds of rounds through using a variety of ammo and never had a problem with any of them. Same with a Sig P938 and a friends CZ SP-01. This ammo resulted in several FTF & FTE on each magazine in all three guns. Big mess to clean up after shooting. I will never buy again. (Posted on 5/22/2016)

I bought 1000 rounds of this ammo because it was very affordable. Cheap is a better word to use though. I fired it from three different pistols: Glock 19, S&W M&P Shield, S&W M&P VTAC. All platforms are regularly cleaned, maintained, and lubricated. It had a high malfunction rate in each pistol, approximately 20% of the time; possibly higher. Most of the time if was a failure to extract or a failure to eject. Many of the expended casings would get stuck inside the chamber and lock the slide; resulting in the use of a cleaning rod inserted into the muzzle to clear the obstruction. Other times the casing would get caught up in the slide during ejection. There were a few failure to fires as well. I noticed that some of the casings had some sort of crusty residue on the outside of the casing, possibly the reason why it was getting stuck in the chamber and not ejecting. I also noticed immediately upon opening the first box that a few rounds were seated too far into the casing. The malfunctions were so frequent that it severely impeded my training and caused major frustration. I would not recommend this ammunition to anyone. (Posted on 5/3/2016)

Bought 1000 rounds for my GLOCK 19. Last 3 trips to SHOOTERS WORLD have had 3 barrel jams around the 30-40 round mark consistently. Gun never jammed like this with any other rounds. Lesson learned going to stick with higher quality brass ammo as there have been no issues. (Posted on 4/26/2016)

i too bought a 1000 rounds of this ammo and was apprehensive about running it through my pistol (cz 75 sp-01) and my friend's glock 17 after reading all the bad reviews.
extraction problems seemed to be the main issue with this ammo according to the reviews, so i lubed the bore of my pistol the night before hitting the desert hoping to mitigate the failure to extract casings. my friend did not lube the bore of his pistol.
we shot 200 rounds of the maxxtech steel and did not experience one malfunction in either of our pistols. (Posted on 4/8/2016)

I should have read the reviews first. I have put this through Sig Sauer P226, HKP30L, Beretta 92FS, Jericho 941, and more. Consistent jams. It seemed only the Sig could shoot it without issues. Today a cartridge discharged, but bullet lodged in barrel on 5th round of the day in the Sig. It is not just because of the steel casings, as I have used 4,000+ rounds of Tula 9mm without any issues. (some issues with Tula .40 and .45 though) For me, I will read more reviews before I try a new brand of ammo. (Posted on 4/3/2016)

Went through 300 rounds of this today at the range. Jammed 4-5 times on 2 brand new Glock 19s. The steel expands and becomes lodged in the extractor. If you try to work the slide it becomes almost impossible to get it out. Fires ok I guess. It goes bang when you pull the trigger, but you might not be able to fire again. Almost 2 or more rounds per box at least have bullets pushed too far into the casing. This causes bulging when fired, and gets the case stuck really well into the chamber. Jammed up two Glock 19's and a SW MP Shield. Just buy Tula for the cheap stuff, OR cough up a little more dough and buy American. Bulk Ammo kicks ass, these rounds do not. Now go get training. Bought 1000 rounds for the best deal I could find for a lot of range practice shooting. Should have read these reviews first. Worst ammo I've ever used. After only 220 rounds, I am returning the rest. Used this ammo in FOUR different handguns (Bersa BPCC, CZ 75 SP-01, Rock Island carry 1911, S&W MP) and had FOURTEEN jams! I can understand a few FTF's or FTE's, but we had to do serious work on these guns to remove the ammo. The CZ was a new pistol, and took the brunt of the ammo and jams (150 rounds, 7 jams). We started running it through our other 9mm's to see what would happen. Turns out the CZ handled it better than any of the other guns (Bersa and Rock Island didn't make it through 20 rounds before having 3 jams each). Not 100% sure that it is because of the steel casing, but I am 100% sure it's this particular ammo. I have since purchased and ran 500 rounds of four different brands (Federal, American Eagle, Winchester, and Blazer Brass) with ZERO issues from any of the ammos or guns. To be safe, I will be running only brass casings from now on. Very lucky we didn't have to take any of the guns to a gunsmith to remove the jams. This was obviously the CHEAPEST ammo out there, but it came with a price. I'm rating it low on bargain because what little money you may save comparing brands, you will spend significantly more than that in wasted time and effort, and potentially repairing your guns. DO NOT BUY THIS AMMO! Spend a little more money and buy something reliable; you will thank yourself later. (Posted on 3/7/2016)

I own a Beretta PX4 Storm and have shot all kinds of ammo through it, but this ammo is bad news. It jammed my gun three times and I actually had to take it to a gunsmith to have a live round removed because it was jammed in the barrel. Stay away from this stuff, it's not worth the headache. Bought 1,000 rounds of this, and I've gone though 5 or so boxes in my M&P Shield. It must be the steel casings, but this ammo has been a disaster. Seems like every other mag has one failure to eject, and that has not happened with any other ammo, including MaxxTech 115mg with brass casings. This ammo was reasonably accurate when it shot, but I had stuck case after stuck case in several quality guns (glocks and hk.)
