Details
These cartridges are loaded in Russia using non-corrosive Berdan primers. They have magnetic properties due to their steel components and may not be suitable for all indoor ranges.

It is a slower burning powder than typical .223 as best I can figure. I get MASSIVE flames out of the barrel and short stroked cycles and failures to extract. The ammo seemed to cycle fine with my buddies 20" AR with the rifle length gas-port. I have a 16" barrel with a mid-length gas-port chambered in .223 Wylde.
I've run American Eagle .223, Remington 5.56 and .223, PMC 5.56 and Fiocchi .223 without any of the same issues.
Stick to better ammo if you are running a short AR. (Posted on 6/16/2015)

However, there seems to be steel in the bullet. I'm not talking about the casing, its in the bullet itself. I went to a friend's range and they did a magnet test over my ammo and the tips were getting stuck to the magnet. That range did not allow me to fire the ammo and I had to purchase some of theirs.
My range has no problem with a bit of steel in the bullets and I have been so happy with my purchase.
In the future, it would be great to know ahead of time which ammo is pure lead and which has steel in it. (Posted on 12/26/2014)

Today I went to a local outdoor range and run 200rds through it, not one problem at all.
Accuracy was no problem and still no problem of any kind. I do clean my rifle after every range time and run it pretty wet with frog lube so cleanup is very easy. No carbon build up, with frog lube it just wiipes clean.
So this tells me if you mantain your rifle you should not have a problem with this ammo.
Its a very cheap way to practice, I will have no doubts about buying more of this ammo for practice, at this price per round including shipping its not bad!

This ammo runs dirty and I habitually clean the rifle with Slip 2000 after every range day, which may have helped in preventing any malfunctions. Also, the ammo was consistently accurate out to 100 yards. I'm hoping to get the same performance out of the brass ammo.
All that said, I did not try rapid sustained fire at any point, so I can't speak to what happens when things get very hot. Admittedly I wouldn't use this ammo for that purpose, but instead brass cased. For sighting in and practicing weapon manipulation and marksmanship, though, this was fine. (Posted on 1/16/2014)

Since I do NOT reload and my range says that if a case hits the floor it is theirs, I'll fore steel cased ammo because of the cost difference. The rifle must be fired "wet" with lube and cleaned well and relubed before storage. Ten cases of brass cased ammo vs 12 cases of steel cased stuff. If I want to HUNT or compete, I use GOOD stuff; that COSTS much more.
Consider: what is my use for the ammo, what is my budget, and what is tha cost of an occasional click vs bang? ANY ammo can give you a misefire. It is what you DO to clear the bad round and chamber another that matters. (Posted on 1/16/2014)
