Bought this ammo based upon quantity and price. The cost of the ammo plus the shipping made it a better cost per round than I could get locally. Or anywhere else online for that matter. The ammo was delivered to my house within 2, maybe 3 days in a very unassuming package. The ammo itself is reliable. I've put 350 or so through my AR-15 without any issues and any to note differences in accuracy would probably require someone with impeccable marksmanship.

I just finished shooting 500 rounds of Wolf Gold 223 during a practical rifle training course in the NV desert. NV has some nasty fine dust that gets everywhere in your rifle but I did not have a single malfunction during the entire 500 round, 4 day course. I bought Wolf ammo because I wanted something inexpensive as the shooting school (Front Sight) does not let student pick up spent casings, and I didn't want to leave my Federal Lake City brass on the range. This ammo did not disappoint. Accuracy was good enough to get me within 5 points of shooting "Distinguished Graduate" and I am not a proficient rifleman. Most of the problems associated with wolf ammo has to do with the firearm it's used in. So i decided to try it in my DPMS Oracle which has a carbine length gas system an none of the fancy chrome-lined stuff. It's straight mil-spec and the cheapest AR I've seen. I shot 120 rounds through it and they all ran flawlessly. In the future, I'll probably buy wolf by the case as practice ammo. (Posted on 2/14/2016)

This is high quality ammo made by the 205TH Arsenal in Kaohsiung Taiwan, a major arms supplier to the worlds armies. The "Wolf" headstamps and distribution arrangement was brokered for some arcane export reasons. This ammo is NOT made in Russia. Actually this ammo is better than military grade because its not dinged up like Lake City stuff that costs 30% more. Shot approximately 500 rounds through my Spikes AR-15, a PSA AR-15 SBR build, and my BCM midlength AR. No FTF's or FTE's. No issues at all. Never shoot brass ammo after shooting steel cased ammo, or any AR-15 you have may have problems. Polymer cased ammo (Steel) gets hot and sticky in the chamber, then when you shoot brass you will have FTF's and FTE's no matter what brand of AR you have. (Posted on 8/12/2015)

I was very excited about receiving my 2000 rounds of this ammo based on the positive reviews I saw. Hit the range and experienced a double feed on my first magazine. I experienced another double feed 45 rounds later and my buddy also experienced a double fees with his AR using my ammo on his 52nd round. We have shot a variety of ammo in the past and neither of our rifles have ever had a single feed issue. Either I got a bad case or there are now issues with this ammo in general. Don't let the "Wolf" name deter you from buying this, I bought a 1000 round a case a few months back and every single round went bang. Projectiles are lead core with a copper jacket, no steel in the bullet, will not attract a magnet. Cases look good, nice slick polish on them, not too dirty of powder. I heard all these bad story about Wolf ammo and some are true about the steel casing, but the brass ammo is a different story. Good ammo with surprisingly good accuracy once zeroed. Zeros about 4 inches left and high at 100 yards compared to other ammo. Shoots MOA at 200 and 300 yards out of a parted together AR. Noticed this ammo dries out the bolt carrier group quicker than other ammo, so if you are running 600 rounds without cleaning, keep an eye on the bolt, throw some lube if dry, and repeat! While the shelves in Illinois are still rather bare, Bulk Ammo ships this good quality ammunition very quickly, and so far I have had excellent accuracy with no FTF, FTE, or any other kind of malfunction. I put about 200-250 rds thru my new AR and frankly haven't had a bad round nor misfire yet. Seems to shoot consistent and I think I may have to load up on this stuff. Purchased a few weeks back and put about 400 through my rifle so far. I clean after every session and it hasn't been too much of a chore. Tight groups. Had one small jam, but we blame that on the steel magazine, as we haven't had a single issue when using the polymer mags. I would recommend the extra packaging only because it is a little more discreet when left on your door step. I plan on buying a lot more of this. (Posted on 2/18/2014)

I split a shipment with a buddy and have shot about 200 rounds so far with my S&W M&P AR-15. Every round cycled correctly, even when the weapon got dirty from blowing dust. Good accuracy too. My rifle wasn't any dirtier than other ammo brands. I will buy more. (Posted on 1/24/2014)

First time I ever bought Wolf. Avoided before because I wanted Primed Brass not steel. Then saw they have this Gold brand with Brass. Bought a 1,000 rounds and shot them all over a 5 day period. Not one Misfire and true groups. Also, the gun was easier to clean than normal... side bonus. I plan on buying again. (Posted on 1/22/2014)

A: Brent, the Wolf Gold line is not actually manufactured by Wolf in Russia. They contract out this to various companies. While it is regarded as great ammo, sometimes the bullet used is a boat-tail and sometimes it is not. I would always go by what is printed on the box for the lot that you are interested in purchasing. That will be accurate.

A: There have been reported out of battery discharges with Wolf ammunition and S&W M&P model rifles. Neither company is admitting fault but rather stating that if you combine the two products then your warranty is void in case of accident. We expect definitive testing at some point to pin down the actual issue, but right now all we have is a reported issue and two companies fighting.
Q: Is this ammo lead free range ammo? Would I be able to use it at indoor ranges?

The stated muzzle velocity of the .223 is stated at 3250 fps by Wolf. This .223 round does have a bit higher velocity than comparable .223 rounds like PMC Bronze and Federal American Eagle.
Q: Is the bullet magnetic? Is the case magnetic?
I belong to a range that will not allow steel cased or steel core ammo.
