I have ordered through Bulk Ammo several times; shipments arrived promptly and prices were the best I had found. The American Eagle Federal 5.56 x 45 FMJBT shoots well in my Sig Sauer 516 Patrol; 16" barrel with 1:7 twist. No misfires, FTF or FTE after at least 200 rounds. Due to the current situation and ammo shortage/pricing I cannot give it a 5 star rating in the bargain category however service and delivery have always been awesome at Bulk Ammo. Every other time I've purchased ammo in the past prices have been great and orders were delivered in just a couple days. I originally ordered ammo from Bulk Ammo because they had the best price and made promises of prompt shipment. They lived up to both promises. I shot about a hundred rounds zeroing in my gun. There were no misfires and every round I handled was visably in good condition. Though I am a retired police officer shooting has not been my priority for several years. I am reloading and shooting once again and am in the process of rebuilding my ammo contacts and suppliers. I have compared numerous web advertised companies and chose BulkAmmo for my first purchase. Q: Is this ammo steel core. The range I shoot at does not allow steel core. They check it with a magnet.

A: This M193 5.56x45 rifle ammunition will be safe to use at your rang and will pass (not stick) the magnet test. Almost all M193 bullets will be safe to fire at indoor ranges that have these restrictions in place. On the other hand, the M855 bullets, including the Green Tip rounds, will not pass the test and are best saved for outdoor range applications.
Our selection of .223 Rem ammo will also offer M193 rounds for indoor range use including PMC 55 grain in .223. These may be fired in the 5.56x45 chamber, though it should be noted 5.56 ammo should not be fired in .223 chambers.
