Speer’s Gold Dot G2 represents the future of the jacketed hollow point projectile. This 9mm cartridge’s 147 grain bullet has a relatively small nose cavity which contains a pool of malleable elastomer. Upon impact that material is forced down into the G2’s core’s engineered internal fissures, forcing them apart to produce five deadly petals that will lay a threat flat in no time flat.

Like the original Gold Dot, the G2 features an electrochemically bonded copper jacket. It doesn’t shred or flake on impact or during penetration, and accordingly delivers nearly perfect weight retention in bare ballistic gelatin. Because it was formed one molecule at a time the jacket is furthermore nearly perfectly distributed, so the G2 has the balance requisite for very straight flight.

This cartridge is complemented by a corrosion resistant nickel plated brass casing, which permits exceptionally smooth feeding and ejection in a semi-automatic firearm, a reliable primer by CCI, and propellant that ensures a stable chamber pressure with every shot.
