This 308 Win cartridge by Speer will serve you well whether you want to defend your home, hunt deer, or defend your home against deer. Its 150 grain bullet is a soft point, which deforms in response to resistance from a soft medium. Such expansion coupled with rapid tumbling creates the kind of wound channel that most creatures won’t be able to walk off.

A Gold Dot bullet’s jacket is extra special. Speer creates it via their proprietary Uni-Cor process, which electrochemically bonds it to its alloyed lead core. Each molecule of the jacket is applied one at a time, so it’s highly concentric as the result. In addition to being accurate, the bullet is exceptionally tough. That means you’ll get the weight retention required for a very deep wound channel in addition to a wide one.

This round’s nickel plated casing lessens friction as it brushes against steel, which will help a semi-automatic rifle feed and extract it efficiently. Nickel is also corrosion resistant, making this round a great choice for hunting in the harsh elements.
