Is match grade 308 Win ammunition from South Korea the secret to happiness? Turns out it is! A lot of people could save a lot of money on therapy if they’d only embrace this fact.
PMC is a subsidiary of South Korea’s largest nonferrous metal manufacturer and the main ammo supplier to the Asian nation’s military. They know what they’re doing, and that manifests itself as high quality through and through. Clockwork primers. Clean-burning powder. Immaculate polished – and reloadable – brass cases. The whole shooting match!
But what about those bullets? The 168 grain open tip match is one of the most popular bullets for serious competition. An FMJ can’t touch the OTM’s rotational stability, as the latter bullet’s solid lead core is injection-molded to its thin and nearly perfectly concentric copper jacket. The OTM’s fully jacketed base also averts deformation that could throw the bullet off kilter hundreds of yards downrange.
Word to the wise (i.e. you): the OTM is not a hunting bullet. It doesn’t expand, so it’s not going to tear out the wide wound channel which kills a whitetail more humanely.
