It’s rigid enough to withstand the stress of feeding and ignition without cracking, but it completely disintegrates the instant it strikes any surface harder than itself. In contrast to a traditional FMJ, which is made of solid metals, the frangible bullet is virtually incapable of jeopardizing the shooter with splash-back or a ricochet.
